Nancy and her husband raised three daughters in Northern Indiana before discovering and moving to the Island of Matlacha, Florida. This became her own “On Golden Pond” paradise for twenty years before moving to “The Little House on the Prairie” in the far North West corner of Cape Coral. Her daughters and their families all relocated nearby, filling her home with love and laughter.
Her work has appeared in the Gary Post Tribune, The Fort Myers-Cape Coral News-Press, Writers Currents, books published by The Pine Island Writers, and an Anthology by Peace River Center for Writers. She enjoys writing short stories and poems about nature, the island, aging, and also children’s stories and poems. Much of her work is peppered with humor. When she is not writing she is usually sketching, painting, boating or biking. She has been a member of Pine Island Writers since 2005.
Nancy has had the honor of reading her work in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, and several venues on Pine Island over the years. In 2015 she won first place at Gulf Coast Writers Association’s contest for children’s stories with “Tommy The Leaf,” and again in 2019 for “Oliver Goes Exploring,” and third place in 2020 for “The Picnic.” All are available at the Amazon link below.
