Our weekly Monday night critique group is designed to provide a space to share our writing with the goal of honing our skills and improving our work. Authors screen share and read aloud the piece they are wanting feedback on.
While presenters usually have ten to fifteen minutes to present their piece and receive feedback, the critiques are only as effective as the thoughtfulness/consideration of the work presented and the responses.
Consider the feedback you’re looking for and give the listeners time to absorb, process, and provide reactions that will help you improve your work.
Critiques are not a Q and A, discussion, or analysis, but a response to what you are presenting.
